Just added a new piece to the "Buildings/Outdoor Scenes" section of the website. It's a drawing called "Sandonia" which is based on a derelict building on the Sandon Road in Stafford. Apparently many years ago it was a cinema and a theatre before that. A few years earlier i painted the back of the building without realising that it was actually the Sandonia. That piece was "Unsafe Structure".
Unfortunately I didn't get through to the next round of "Show Me the Monet" but I suppose I did well to be short-listed.
On the plus side I have a number of exhibitions lined up this year, the next being "Architecture" at The Shire Hall Gallery in Stafford. This runs from the 11th February to the 25th March 2012.
I have just found out that I have been short-listed for series 2 of "Show Me the Monet". I entered a while ago having no idea what they were looking for or whether my work would appeal. BBC2 rang me up today and told me that out of 3000 entries I was one of the 300 artists selected for the next round.
It's quite an achievement to have even got that far but it would be nice to end up in the exhibition which will be held in London later this year. You can read more on the show's website. The piece I entered is "41A", which you can view on my website.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Well it's Christmas Eve as I write this. 2012 will prove to be a busy one for me with a new studio soon to be built and several exhibitions lined up.
